True Contentment

Real contentment must come from within.  You and I cannot change or control the world around us, but we can change and control the world within us.”  -Warren Wiersbe

There may be points in our lives that we are honored and praised, and other times that we are ignored and forgotten about, or even despised and disdained.  We can’t live for the praise of men because it’s as fleeting as chasing the wind.  Likewise, we go through seasons that we have much and others that we must learn to live with less.  We can’t stake our spiritual health and wellbeing in wealth because it can be here today and gone tomorrow.  Our mentality should be that of Apostle Paul’s: I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances” (Phil. 4:11).  When the world seems to be crumbling around us and life is not going as we had hoped, let’s pray that we would find true contentment in knowing and being known by Christ that lives in every believer (Col. 1:27).

Obey the LORD and you will live a long life, content and safe from harm (Prov. 19:23, GNT).
