Winning our Battles

"Battles are won in the hearts of men."  -Vince Lombardi

There are battles we as believers go through from time to time that beat us down.  If you haven’t gone through a battle yet in your journey walking with God, give it time, and you will.  Perhaps it’s a spiritual battle wrestling with sin and shame, or why God would allow something bad to happen to someone good, or even doubting if whether God exists at all. Maybe your battle is financial or in your health. Maybe so-called friends betrayed you, or your career hasn’t gone the way you’d hoped.  No matter what battles you feel you’ve lost, the war isn’t over, and God isn’t finished writing your story.  God specializes in fighting our battles for us because He loves being the Hero in our stories to bring Himself glory.  God wants to give us the desires of our hearts, and sometimes He has to kickstart dead hearts to tell them to beat again.  We can then begin to envision endless possibilities and dream new dreams.  Fully surrender your heart to God, seeking His face, so that He can begin afresh in you.

Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you (Deuteronomy 3:22, NIV).
