Praising God in the Storm

"The greater your knowledge of the goodness and grace of God on your life, the more likely you are to praise Him in the storm." -Matt Chandler

I heard someone say that we’re in one of either three places: in a storm, coming out of one, or soon to enter in one.  Whenever we go through trials and tribulations, it can be difficult for us to accept the notion that God is good when the circumstances surrounding our lives are bad, and perhaps worse than many of those that don’t live for God.  We may sometimes ask ourselves, “What’s the point of living for God if this is what happens to me?”  In these times, may we continue to praise God through the storm.  Just as Peter held on to Jesus so that he wouldn’t drown under the crashing waves, we too must hold on to Him, believing that a good God is firmly in control.

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed (Psalm 107: 28-29, NIV).
