Bearing our Burdens

“As long as a man is alive and out of hell, he cannot have any cause to complain.”  -Charles Spurgeon

We tend to think that complaining to our friends and family about our burdens is in some way is cathartic and helpful, but often times it only makes burdens seem worse.  What if instead of complaining, we simply prayed? If we went to God first with our burdens then it’s very likely that we’d see our burdens in a whole new light.  Perhaps we’d see our burdens aren’t actually as bad as they seem, and regardless of whether God changes our set of circumstances immediately, or ever for that matter, He can give us the strength to bear our burdens with ease.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28, NIV).
