Leading The Way

People ask the difference between a leader and a boss. The leader leads, and the boss drives.  -Theodore Roosevelt

Jesus knew a thing or two about leadership, and here is one way how.  Jesus never asked his followers to do anything he was not also willing to do.  I.e., Jesus modeled how to wash another’s feet before he ever asked his followers to do so, and in that, he gained credibility as a servant-leader.  Remember this next time if you want to accomplish something that requires others’ help.  Whether you lead a non-profit, a church group, or a start-up company, this leadership principle is universal: do not ask anyone to do what you are not also willing to do.

And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet (John 13:14).
