“In preparing for
battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.” -Dwight D. Eisenhower
A million-man Ethiopian Army set out to attack Judah (2
Chronicles 14). King Asa had
prepared for this the best he could: he turned Judah back to God, built
fortified walls around the city and organized a 300 thousand Judean Army. Still, however, Judah was vastly
outmanned. All that was left for Asa
to do was call on God’s name. Subsequently
God crushed the enemy and Judah’s smaller army drove them away. The lesson for Judah is true for you
and me, too: do everything you naturally can and ask God to do the
supernatural. No matter how big
your enemy seems, whenever you call on God’s name it’s game over.
Everyone who
calls on the name of the LORD will be saved (Romans 10:13, NLT).
