Sell Out or Stand Up?

Never for the sake of peace and quiet deny your convictions.  -Dag Hammarskjold

There comes a point in one’s life that he can sell out or stand up.  As one that grew up in Pharaoh’s palace, Moses could have enjoyed the luxuries that this provided for the rest of his life all while the Jews suffered lives as slaves.  It could have been easy to forget his mother that had put him in basket to float him down the Nile to spare his life, but Moses never forgot who he really was.  He may have worn royal Egyptian robes, but Jewish blood flowed through his veins.  Somehow he knew God’s calling on his life to deliver his people out of slavery was too great.  Moses refused to sell out, and instead he stood up.  Likewise we each must have the courage of our convictions.  Live a life in which you stay true to you, and more importantly, to a God that loves you.

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD (Psalm 31:24, NLT).
