Forgetting Jesus

And they were filled with awe, and they said, “Who is this man, that even the wind and the waves obey him?” (Mark 4:41, NLT)

In this passage Jesus had already since performed signs and wonders, but somehow His disciples forgot He was more than mere man.  When Christians read the Bible, we do so as if Jesus is God, however—are we applying this knowledge throughout our day?  Why is it that we can go through whole minutes of distress before we remember to stop and pray?  Many times God steps in and surprises us, usually not because He has a flare for drama, but more often because we forget whom Jesus is.

“I always have trouble remembering three things: faces, names, and - I can't remember what the third thing is.”  -Fred Allen
