Walking On Water

To have faith is to trust yourself to the water.  When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown.  Instead you relax, and float.  -Alan Watts (philosopher)

When it’d be much easier to stand on the shore and watch, Christ calls each of us to the water.  In spite of our doubts and with childlike faith we are to come to him.  The currents of our callings can be swift and sharp, and the waves may crash on us, but he believes in us. The question is: will we wholeheartedly place our faith in him?

“Come,” he said.  Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus (Matthew 14:29, NIV).
