Ministry Is Like Baseball

You don’t have to hit a home run every time, just consistent singles.          –Rick Warren

Some ballplayers, especially when they’re losing to the other team, tend to want to swing for the fences.  The truth is however that even Albert Pujols (today’s most prolific homerun hitter), knows that many times it’s best just to get on base and trust his team to drive him in for the win.

Baseball is a lot like ministry.  If I expected to write something brilliant every day then that would be a lot of pressure.  Instead it makes my day if I know that I’ve at least ministered to one person.

As Christians we can only do our best and let God take care of the rest.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.  (Ephesians 3:20)
