I was attacked by a beast

You have to do your own growing no matter how tall your grandfather was. –Abraham Lincoln

I was running through my neighborhood one evening, carefully watching for cars and wearing a bright neon safety vest so cars could see me.  I thought I’d protected myself well until all the sudden, out of nowhere a beast ran up and wildly barked at my heels.  With haste I anxiously jumped 3 feet before realizing the beast was a schnauzer!  I honestly had the temptation to get on all fours and show it my teeth, growl, sneer and bark back to scare it away.  As Christians when someone attacks us undeservedly, sometimes our instinct is to react with our base nature and fight that person on their level.  It’s in these times God allows circumstances to test if we’ll act and react in a Christlike manner, standing tall and staying the course.

James 1:3 - because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
