You Are A Friend Of God

“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.” –C.S. Lewis

If you lost everyone—the person you’d been best friends with since middle school, high school teammates, college drinking buddies, mother and father, and even your spouse and kids—you are a friend of God. Chapters turn, seasons change, and life goes on. Friendship can at times seem like a revolving door, but God’s door is always open. It is special when we have those life-long friends, but there is no friendship as sweet as an eternity with the Lord. He’s there through thick and thin, whether you’ve loved Him or not, to the end. We can’t earn it, we didn’t deserve it; it’s the Greek word “agape”, charity love, that which is unconditional.
