We Can't "Obey" What We Don't "Know" (Joshua 1:8)

Joshua 1:8 when referring to the Bible, says, “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it night and day so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”

As Believers we take the Bible not as one of many ‘self-help’ remedies to our life’s problems, but literally as mandate from God as to how we are to live. That means when God said, “peace, be still”, be at peace not because it’s a good idea, but because God himself commanded this. When we “meditate” on the Bible, we study it to the point that we know it, because we can’t “obey” what you don’t know. And you can’t know what you haven’t read. When we truly know it, we can quote it. Everything from the scriptures against sin, the miracles, the healings, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the prophesy of his return. Once the Scripture is in our hearts, we do everything we do everything we humanly can to obey what we know.
