Sin Is Slavery

John 8:31-32, Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “Your are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Jesus told this to “descendents of Abraham”, proud Jews, who wondered what they could possibly become free from. Jesus responded that everyone who sins is a slave of sin (v. 34). No matter who you are, when you are habitually living in sin, you are a slave. Sin has consequences: guilt, shame, confusion, remorse, disease, addiction, unwanted children, and divorce. When we become disciples’ of Christ, we seek to know and obey all that Jesus says. Though we still sin and fall short of the glory of God, we repent, daily. *Christ has died for the remission of our sins so that we are saved by his bountiful grace. We’ve been set free. * For some I may be ‘preaching to choir’, but for the rest I pray that we can all ask God to forgive us of anything that is binding us. It’s truly that simple. I can’t wait to see the strongholds that will be broken in the name of Jesus.

Much love.
