Patience Isn't Passively Waiting

"Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow - that is patience." - Unknown

Sometimes we find that our spiritual routine places us in a spiritual rut. We pray the sinner’s prayer, three times a day, perhaps for breakfast, lunch and dinner; and then what? We do it all over again because that’s how we roll. Every day. It may seem we haven’t even done anything wrong in a really long time, but we still don’t feel quite right. Many are their own worst critics. If ever you’re down on yourself and there isn’t anyone there to give you a helping hand or an affirming word, this is when you encourage yourself in the Lord and His Word.

“Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled.” –Romans 15:5
